Hyderabad: Cameron Green's maiden IPL fifty and Arjun Tendulkar's fiery last over propelled Mumbai Indians to a 14 run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here on Tuesday.

Needing 20 off the last over, Hyderabad could muster up only six runs as Arjun bagged his first IPL wicket in the form Bhuvaneshar Kumar who was caught by Rohit Sharma for 2.

Sent into bat, Mumbai put up a very good total, considering the pitch was not a belter, but coming on slowly off it. Rohit gave Mumbai a rollicking start, but gave away his wicket after scoring 28 off 16 balls, which was studded with six boundaries.

Ishan Kishan (38 off 31) and Green steadied the innings in the middle before Marco Jansen (2/43) struck twice in an over.

Tilak Varma (37 off 17, 2x4s 4x6s) joined Green, and the duo put on 56 runs for fourth wicket, giving the much-needed filip to the innings.

Green (64) progressed and cracked his maiden IPL fifty, while Tim David played a sparkler, scoring 16 off 11 balls with two boundaries.

In reply, they lost key batsmen Aiden Markram (22 off 17), Heinrich Klassen (36 off 16) and Washington Sundar (10 off 6) at inappropriate times.

The hosts started poorly too, losing Harry Brook (9) and Rahul Tripathi (7) in fourth over, but recovered as Mayank Agarwal (48 off 41) batted with his adrenaline running high.

Markram looked in fine touch, but got out for 22 off 17 balls. Klaasen walked in, and brought the asking rate down, but perished when Hyderabad had their nose ahead.

Jansen (13 off 6) and Sundar played cameos, but it needed to last a few more balls.

Mumbai was on the money not only with their batting, but were extraordinary on the field. Their catching was clean as David brought up four catches. The run-out of Sundar assured Mumbai's victory.

Mumbai have bounced back, and have three wins back-to-back, pushing them up to No.6 in points table, and Hyderabad slipping to No. 9. (UNI)
