New Delhi: The 13th season of IPL is going to be held in Dubai due to the coronavirus epidemic. Vivo terminated its contract with the BCCI last week amid rising demand for a boycott of Chinese goods after the India-China Standoff in Galwan Valley. In 2017, Vivo India bagged IPL title sponsorship rights for Rs 2,199 crore.
The company had to pay around Rs 440 crore to BCCI every season. The BCCI was looking for a new sponsor since Vivo rollbacked. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly also said that there will not be much difference after the exit of Vivo. Now there are reports that Yog guru Baba Ramdev's "Patanjali" may bid for the sponsor of IPL 2020.

According to a report in Economic Times, Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala said that we want to make Patanjali a global brand and that is why we are considering sponsoring the IPL. Market experts believe that if the sponsor of IPL becomes Patanjali, it will gain greater recognition globally. However, big celebrities are seen in the promotion of many of Patanjali's products.

Following the departure of Vivo, companies like Jio, Amazon, Tata Group, Dream 11, and Byjus are also showing interest in the title sponsorship of the IPL. The BCCI said that for the new sponsor of IPL-13, complete transparency and procedure will be followed. BCCI is going to remove ITB soon. The tender process will be followed to choose a sponsor, as the board wants transparency. The winner of the auction under the Invitation Bid will be the sponsor of the 13th season of the IPL to be held in the UAE from 19 September to 10 November in the UAE.
