He said on Friday that, Rajeshwari qualified for the Paris Olympics by placing fifth in the women's trap competition at the ongoing ISSF World Championships in Baku.
Mr Hayer said that a new sports policy has been formulated in which the main focus has been on taking the sportspersons to the international stage.
He said Rajeshwari Kumari is the second shooter from Punjab and the seventh shooter from the country to qualify for the Paris Olympics quota. Before this, Sift Kaur Samra has won
the Olympic quota.
Rajeshwari is also the second shooter from India to qualify for the Olympics in the history of women's trap event. (UNI)
