BANG defeats WI by 6 wkts in 1st ODI, Shakib bags MOM on Int'l return

Dhaka:Shakib al Hasan picked four wickets after his return to international cricket and helped the host Bangladesh defeat second stranded West Indies by 6 wickets on the home turf in the first ODI. Bangladesh is now 1-0 up in the three-match ODI series. 
It is to be noted that West Indies is playing without the heavyweight's pollard, Holder, heytmyer, Pooran, and others in Bangladesh which have made the proceedings easy for the Asian side. 
 
After winning the toss Bangladesh invited West Indies to bat first in Sher-e Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. The batting lineup of the touring side fell like a pack of cards with the highest score of 40 by Kyle Mayers. All-rounder Shakib al Hasan scalped 4 wickets and celebrated his return to international cricket after a year.
 
Chasing an easy target of 123 runs, Bangladesh never looked in trouble despite getting few hiccups. The skipper Tamim Iqbal scored 44 runs. Akeel Hoseen was the pick of the bowlers who picked 3 wickets. The second match will be played on Friday in the same venue. (WD)
