In a deeply tragic incident, state-level Kabaddi player Brijesh Solanki, a rising star from Farana village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, has died of rabies — weeks after being bitten by a puppy he tried to rescue.

Bitten During Puppy Rescue, Vaccination Ignored

The heartbreaking sequence began in March, when a stray puppy fell into a roadside drain in his village. Brijesh stepped in to rescue it. During the rescue, the puppy bit his finger on the right hand.

Believing the bite to be minor, Brijesh did not take any rabies vaccination or medical treatment.

Condition Rapidly Worsened, Final Days in Pain

On Thursday morning, Brijesh reportedly felt numbness in his right hand — the same one that had been bitten. By the afternoon, the numbness had spread throughout his body. He was rushed to Jeevan Jyoti Hospital in Aligarh, then referred to a government medical college, where doctors refused to admit him citing the severity and incurability of the disease at that stage.

The family then sought treatment at an Ayurvedic center in Mathura, where there was some brief improvement. However, his condition deteriorated once again, and he was taken to GTB Hospital in Delhi, where doctors confirmed rabies and informed the family that treatment would no longer be effective.

On Friday morning, while the family was bringing Brijesh back to his village, he tragically died on the way.

Final Moments Captured: Disturbing Video Goes Viral

A heartbreaking video of Brijesh’s final moments has emerged online, showing the young Kabaddi player writhing in pain, clearly suffering the advanced symptoms of rabies — including spasms, panic, and confusion. In the footage, he can be heard screaming in agony.

Who is Brijesh Solanki?

Brijesh Solanki was a state-level Kabaddi champion who had recently clinched gold at a state tournament in February 2025. The 24-year-old athlete was reportedly preparing for the Pro Kabaddi League 2026.

His death has sent shockwaves through the sporting world and sparked renewed calls for awareness about rabies prevention and timely vaccination.
