Childhood friends Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli reunited at the unveiling of their coach Ramakant Achrekar's memorial at the Shivaji Maharaj Park in central Mumbai here on Tuesday (December 3) evening. The visuals of meeting quickly spread like wildfire on internet.
In the viral clip, the Master Blaster can be seen greeting Kambli, who was busy interacting with someone else. At first, Kambli found it hard to recognise him, but soon, he realised and held Sachin's hand firmly. Even after Tendulkar tried to move on, Kambli seemed reluctant to release his hand. It appeared that Kambli wanted Sachin to sit beside him, but the latter wanted to leave. Soon, another acquaintance came to Sachin's rescue and politely tried to calm Kambli down and let him go.
Netizens reacted as soon as the video appeared on the internet. While some noticed how Vinod Kambli was unable to recognise Sachin Tendulkar, other users reacted to how the legendary cricketer wanted to quickly leave.
One user wrote, "Omg this is so sad…. Vinod didn’t recognise him."
Another one commented, "He didn’t even hug him and was trying his best to release his hand from his grip. What gesture."
In another video, Kambli warmly embraced Tendulkar and touched his head.
Another video from the event is going viral where, Vinod sang the very popular song, Sar Jo Tera Chakraye, for the late Indian coach and Sachin can be seen clapping.
Very sad to see Vinod Kambli like this at the age of 52.
Can only pray for his good health and wellbeing pic.twitter.com/nCcDIImuWU
