DHAKA: Bangladesh emulated a 128-year-old record on Saturday during the ongoing second Test against the West Indies here.
The hosts grabbed five early wickets on the second day of the Test match with all five West Indies batsmen getting out bowled.
Mehidy Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan shared five wickets between them as West Indies were reduced to 75-5 at stumps on the second day, trailing the hosts by 433 runs in the first innings.
World cricket has seen this only twice before - 11 August, 1890 and 2 January 1879.
Bangladesh equalled the record for most bowled dismissals in an innings, equalling Australia’s (against England at The Oval in 1890) and England’s (against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1878/79) feats.
