"Your songs were always played in dressing rooms": Cricketers mourn demise of 'Disco King'

New Delhi: Cricketers on Wednesday mourned the death of Bollywood 'Disko King' Bappi Lahiri. The veteran singer and composer passed away in Mumbai. He was 69.

Sachin Tendulkar, ex-India captain Virat Kohli and others paid tribute to the veteran musician.

Taking to Twitter, Sachin said: "I really enjoyed Bappi Da's music, especially "yaad aa raha hai" - heard it several times in the dressing room. The range of his talent was truly amazing. Aap humien hamesha yaad rahenge Bappi Da!"

Bappi Lahiri was known for popularising the disco music in Bollywood as he delivered popular songs in several films of the late 1970s-80s like 'Chalte Chalte', 'Disco Dancer', 'Namak Halal', 'Dance Dance' and 'Sharaabi'.

His last Bollywood song titled 'Bhankas' was for the film 'Baaghi 3', released in 2020. (UNI)
