Dharamshala Paragliding accident: 19-year-old Gujarati tourist dies after falling into 60-foot gorge, VIDEO goes viral

Dharamshala: The body of a 19-year-old girl tourist who died in a paragliding crash at Dharamshala on Saturday evening was handed over to her family members on Sunday after a postmortem was conducted.

In this paragliding crash, a 29-year-old paraglider pilot was also injured.

Additional Superintendent of Police Hitesh Lakhan Pal told UNI that the victim was identified as Bhavsar Khushi D/O Jignesh R/O Sahjanand Avenue near Torrent Power Ltd. Naranpura, Ahmadabad, Gujarat.

He said that a family from Ahmadabad, Gujarat, had come to Dharamshala as tourists, and 19-year-old Bhavsar Khushi went paragliding and took off from the Indrunag takeoff site but crashed down, and Bhavsar Khushi died and the pilot was injured.



The pilot was sent for treatment to DRPGMC Tanda, where his condition is stated to be able. The body of the victim was kept at Zonal Hospital Dharamshala on Saturday, and the postmortem was conducted on Sunday.

The police have registered the case on the statement of the family members, and the investigation is in progress.

Sources said that the accident occurred at around 5:45 pm during the sunset, whereas paragliding is allowed till 5 pm as per norms.

Additional Superintendent of Police Kangra Bir Bhadur said that the police are investigating whether there was a violation of the paragliding norms that resulted in the accident.
