A villager in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur was attacked by a 15-foot long python when he went to the forest to defecate in the open. Villagers came to his recue and killed the snake.
The python approached the villager from behind and wrapped its tail around the man’s neck and attempted to swallow him. The villager managed to catch hold of the python’s mouth and he called for help.
Hearing his screams, nearby villagers rushed to the spot and found the python tightly coiled around the man. They immediately tried to rescue the man, using axes, stones, and other sharp tools to kill the python and free the man.
The dramatic rescue was captured by several other villagers on their mobile phone and one such video is now viral on social media.

No legal action has been taken against the villagers for killing the python. Officials of the forest department said that if an animal is killed to save a person's life, it isn’t categorised as a crime.
