Birmingham: Posing as Good Samaritan, Malaysia coach Hendrawan offered his shoes to Jamaica's badminton player Samuel Rickets after his shoes gave way in the middle of the men's singles match on Day 3 of 2022 Commonwealth Games here on Sunday.

Hendrawan offered his pair of shoes after the Jamaica's national badminton champion's shoes were damaged and he did not have a spare pair of shoes.

Luckily, Hendrawan was wearing the same size of shoes and walked up to Samuel Rickets and offered them to him, who readily accepted.

For the rest of the match, Hendrawan sat without shoes, but with the socks on.

Samuel Rickets was blessed with the shoes, but was not lucky enough to register a win as he lost 21-12, 21-16.

Wearing the same shoes, he then paired with Joel Angus in the doubles. However, they lost the doubles tie to Malaysian Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik 7-21, 11-21. (UNI)
