Muslims, Yadavas didn’t vote for me, won’t do their work: JD(U) Sitamarhi MP Devesh Chandra Thakur

Patna: Apparently fed up over not getting expected support from Muslims and Yadavas in recently held Lok Sabha election, Devesh Chandra Thakur, newly elected MP from Sitamarhi seat, said that he would not do any work of Muslims and Yadavas.
 
Thakur who had recently won from Sitamarhi Lok seat, while addressing a meeting of locals in his constituency on Sunday, said that people supported him extensively in parliamentary election but Muslims and Yadavas did not support him at all.
 
He had the great respect for all communities of his constituency, Thakur remarked.
 
"If any person from Muslim and Yadav comes to my residence for some work, I will offer him good hospitality but not do his work", JD(U) MP said adding that he had in his long public life, served all sections of the society. It was painful that Muslim and Yadav did not extend support to him in recent elections in Sitamarhi, he felt.
 
JD(U) MLC and spokesman of the party Neeraj Kumar while reacting on his statement said that Thakur had great respect for all communities in the society.
 
Thakur might have expressed his pain but would definitely work for minorites and others as and when needed, Kumar said.
 
As it is, Thakur who was earlier Chairman of Bihar Legislative Council, had contested Lok Sabha election on JD(U) ticket from Sitamarhi seat. He had defeated Arjun Rai of RJD by a margin of 51,356 votes . After getting elected to Lok Sabha, Thakur has resigned as chairman of the Council.
