PHOTOS: Tamil Nadu youth collects Re 1 coins for 3 years to buy dream bike of 2.6 lakh, showroom took 10 hours to count them

A youth in Tamil Nadu's Salem bought his dream bike worth Rs 2.6 lakh by paying the entire amount in Re 1 coins. It took the showroom 10 hours to count the money.

V Boobathi dreamt of buying a bike three years ago but didn't have the money as the bike cost Rs 2 lakh back then. So, he started saving 1 rupee coins.

On Saturday, he collected all his savings and took them to a showroom to buy a Bajaj Dominar 400.

Showroom manager Mahavikranth said he was reluctant at first to accept the money in coins, but gave in since he didn't want to disappoint Boopathi. 

"The staff at the showroom took 10 hours to count Boobathi's three years of savings," said Mahavikranth.
