Telangana state BJP president carries Amit Shah’s footwear in viral video, Opp parties call him ‘Slave’ of Delhi

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay was seen carrying Amit Shah’s footwear in a viral video which drew sharp criticism from the opposition parties.

Sanjay, who is also the Karimnagar MP, rushed to pick and hold the footwear of Union Home Minister Shah while coming out from Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad in the city after worshipping the goddess on Sunday.

Sanjay, who is also a member of Parliament, carries the footwear and holds it before Amit Shah as both left the Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad on Sunday.

Cutting across the party lines, political leaders from the ruling TRS, Congress and Left parties slammed Sanjay for carrying Shah’s footwear and branded him a ‘Slave’ of Delhi and Gujarat leaders.

On Twitter, TRS working President and Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, K T Rama Rao said that Telangana people were observing Gujarati ‘slaves’, who carry Delhi shoes and a leader, who is fighting against the Delhi leaders

The Minister also tweeted that all sections of society are ready to reject those who insulted Telangana's self-respect and to protect Telangana's self-esteem.

Lashing out at Bandi Sanjay for carrying the shoes of the union Home Minister, CPI National Secretary K Narayana said it is a shame.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has criticised State president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Bandi Sanjay for carrying the footwear of Union Home Minister Amit Shah here on Sunday and termed the act as placing the self esteem of Telangana people at the feet of Mr. Shah.

On micro blogging platform Twitter, AICC Telangana in-charge Manickam Tagore too found fault with the BJP State president.. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) while criticizing Sanjay for carrying the footwear of Amit Shah, termed the act as placing the self esteem of Telangana people at the feet of Shah.

In his tweet while defending his action, Sanjay said “We provide footwear only with respect..We don’t have the habit of pulling the feet of others. We are not “Ghulam” – we are not the descendants of Rajakars, who salute the Majlis.”
