Thane: In a strong message against glorification of crime, Thane Police took strict action against local goons who celebrated their release from jail with a grand procession.
The police paraded the accused through the same route where they have celebrated, earning widespread praise from the public.

The incident took place in Ulhasnagar, where notorious gangster Diwakar Yadav was involved in a violent brawl in the Ramabai Tekdi area while drinking alcohol.

A heated argument escalated, and Diwakar along with his accomplices assaulted a group of individuals using iron rods and swords. The police promptly registered a case and arrested the culprits.

After being granted bail by the court, Diwakar and his gang were welcomed back by their associates with fireworks, drum beats, and a celebratory procession. The entire incident was captured on CCTV and circulated widely, sparking public outrage over the glorification of criminals.

Taking serious note of the matter, the police re-arrested Diwakar and his associates, filed fresh charges, and marched them through the same streets in broad daylight, dismantling their aura of fear and dominance.
