VIDEO: Father forced to carry dead son on bike for 90 kms after ambulance refused to reduce their high price

Tirupati: The Ruia government hospital reportedly demanded Rs 20,000 for a 90-km ride to a village in Annamaih district from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, forcing a poor man to carry his 10-year-old dead son on his two-wheeler in the blazing sun.

A charitable ambulance operator who offered free ride to the poor Christian family of Chitwale village in Annamaih district was driven away from the hospital, Central Indian Trade Union (CITU) District Secretary K Murali said on Tuesday.

Responding to the incident, the Tirupati YSRCP MP Dr Gurumoorthy directed the Ruia hospital Superintendent and District Collector M Venkatarami Reddy to probe and punish the guilty. (UNI)
