Palakkad/Kannur (Kerala): A clip of the spot, where a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader was hacked to death and a man died of sheer shock witnessing the brutality of it, has gone viral on social media.

The small video clip showing a pool of blood on the roadside, where the RSS local worker in Sangh-stronghold Palakkad was killed, has created panic in the area.

Even the BJP-RSS cadres are not feeling safe, sources said on Wednesday.

RSS Boudhik Pramukh Sanjith (27) was hacked to death by a gang, alleged to be workers of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), while he was travelling along with his wife on a two-wheeler in broad daylight on Monday. Sanjith was from Edupukkulam near Elappully.

BJP state president K Surendran has demanded an NIA probe into the incident.

Surendran courted controversy for his misdemeanour when media first approached him for reaction on the incident.

Recently, several clashes were reported between RSS and SDPI workers in the Elappully area.

A few months ago, a tea-shop run by Sanjith was also damaged by the SDPI workers.

A Special Investigation Team probing the case has seized four swords, suspected to have been used in the murder. The weapons were abandoned at a plot near the National Highway in Kannur, about 12 km from Palakkad town.

Sources said, several families of RSS workers, murdered by CPI(M) in Kannur district, were forced to shift their political loyalty to other political parties, including CPM, due to lack of social support from the Sangh Parivar organisations in Kerala. (UNI)
