Mumbai:The Mumbai police on issued second summon to Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel to appear for investigation next week, in response to a private complaint of sedition filed against them.
According to Rawish  Zamindar, advocate for the complainant, Kangana has been called on Nov 9, while Rangoli has to appear on Nov 10 before the Bandra Police.

On the second occasion, this is the fresh summons issued to the sisters after they remained absent on Oct 26-27 for the investigation, he said.

To the reason for skipping the previous summons, their lawyer had sent a letter to Bandra Police seeking a postponement as the sisters were busy with upcoming wedding of their brother, Adv Zamindar said.

"Among the charges include Indian Penal Code section 124-A (sedition)...besides spreading communal hatred and falsehood. The police have already recorded the statement of the complainant, Munawwarali Sahil A Sayyed, in this connection last month," the lawyer added.

The sisters are directed to appear before the Bandra police station on Nov 9-10, nearly three weeks after the a local court took cognisance of Mr Sayyed's complaint and ordered an FIR (first information report) to be registered against the siblings on Oct 17. (UNI)
