New Delhi: This year will be registered in the history of Indian Cinema, as the year marks the stardom of content. In 2018 we saw the emergence of actors like Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sohum Shah, Rajkummar Rao as a formidable draw at the box office.
And also movies like 'Badhaai Ho', 'Stree', 'Raazi' and 'Tumbbad' turning out to be big hits.
These actors have been around for a while and have been giving good performances but somehow always fell under the radar. However, this year things changed for this talented lot and they got the much-deserved acclaim, recognition and some of them even got the love of the audience as their films.
Though the actor had a supporting role in 'Sanju' and a small role in 'Raazi' made the role his own and walked out with equal praises as the lead star Ranbir Kapoor. His performance in 'Manmarziyaan' added to the film's reviews. He is now been touted to be the next big thing as he has a big budget Karan Johar film 'Takht' in his kitty, among others.
Sohum Shah had already gotten a National Award for the first film as a producer 'Ship of Theseus' and this year he received his acknowledgment as an actor too. He played a supporting role with Irrfan Khan in 'Talvar' and opposite Kangana Ranaut in 'Simran'. While he received praise for most of his performances, 'Tumbbad' turned out to be his true blue breakthrough.
