Shimla: Popular Bollywood stars Nana Patekar and Rajpal Yadav, Producer Anil Sharma and other crew members of the film Journey' called on Himachal Praedesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at his official residence Oak Over here on Monday late evening.
The Chief Minister apprised them that the State Government was promoting film production in Himachal as it has been blessed with rich culture, history and picturesque locations.
To promote Himachal as a favourite destination for film production, the state government has formulated a comprehensive Film Policy and planning to set up a Film Facilitation Cell in the Department of Information and Public Relations as a single Window platform for granting permission thereby ensuring a prompt online process within three working days, he said.
"Our Government will offer more developed film shooting locations to film producers with improved amenities," he said and added that the Government will allow the film units engaged in outdoor shooting of films in the State to use airstrips and helipads located in various parts of Himachal.
The Chief Minister said the State Government was also planning to institute Annual Film Awards for quality films, with at least 50 percent shooting in the State.
Creating a Film Development Fund for organizing festivals, awards and related activities is also under consideration, he reiterated.
Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister, Naresh Chauhan and Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Surinder Chauhan were also present on the occasion.
During the shooting schedule, Rajpal Yadav was seen offering prayers at Jakhu lord Hanuman mandir and Nana also paid visit to Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi, the British Raj day police centre at Shimla.
Currently both cine stars are busy shooting for new film ' Journey. '
