Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut recently made a statement in response to Atul Subhash's suicide, claiming that men are at fault in 99% of marriages. This statement has sparked controversy and debate.
Kangana, a vocal critic of what she perceives as "fake feminism," expressed her shock at the situation, calling Subhash’s story "heartbreaking." In her statement to ANI, she criticized the misuse of laws like Section 498A (related to dowry harassment), claiming that some women use them to extort money from their husbands. "The entire country is in shock. His video is heartbreaking... Fake feminism is condemnable. Extortion of crores of rupees was being done," said Ranaut.
However, the Emergency actress also added a controversial perspective, claiming that in most marriage-related cases, it is the men who are at fault. "In 99% of marriage cases, it's the men who are at fault. That’s why such mistakes also happen," Ranaut said.

As soon as the video went viral, netizens reacted furiously on her statement. Reacting to the video, users called Kangana's remarks to be 'hypocrisy'. One user wrote, "99% how she says like that I am man we don’t do like that Gold digger." Another user commented, "Look who is talking about fake feminism." A third user wrote, "99% of men are at fault? How does she know that statistic?"
Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old techie from Uttar Pradesh, committed suicide in his Bengaluru home, leaving behind a heartbreaking video where he claimed to be extorted for crores of rupees by his estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family.
