Mahesh Babu’s brother Ramesh Babu passes away at 56; Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, others offer condolences

Hyderabad: Superstar Krishna’s elder son and Mahesh Babu’s brother Gattamaneni Ramesh Babu passed away on Saturday night due to liver related illness.

He was 56. He is survived by wife Mrudula, daughter Bharathi and son Jayakrishna.

Ramesh Babu who was suffering from liver related disease died at 0830 hours on the way to AIG, Hospital Gachibowli.

Babu made his Silver screen debut in 1974 with Alluri Sitaramaraju. He also shared screen with his father Krishna and brother Mahesh Babu in various Telugu films. Anna Chellellu, Pachcha Thoranam, Mugguru Kodukulu, Samrat, Chinni Krishnudu, Krishan Gari Abbayi, Bazaar Rowdy were some of his landmark films in Telugu.

He had produced some blockbusters at the box office including Arjun, Athidhi.

His funeral will be held on Sunday evening with Covid-19 guidelines, family sources of Ramesh Babu said.
