Mumbai: 'Newton' will be India's official entry at Oscars 2018, the Film Federation of India (FFI) announced today.The Hindi film was the unanimous choice of FFI's selection committee, headed by Telugu producer C V Reddy.It was chosen from 26 entries this year," FFI secretary general Supran Sen said.
The Amit Masurkar movie, starring Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Raghubir Yadav and Anjali Patil, tells the story of polling officer Newton Kumar, who is bent on conducting free and fair elections in the conflict-ridden jungles of Chhattisgarh.Amit Masurkar, the director of the film, said it was a double celebration for the team.
