Nick did not expect me to shift focus after marriage: Priyanka Chopra

New Delhi: Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra, who tied the knot with US singer Nick Jonas, on Wednesday said that she was fortunate to have as a life partner someone who did not expect hr to shift her focus after marriage.

''Women are always expected to have to shift their focus  after love or marriage but Nick (Jonas) did not expect me to do that . I have never had a guy who has said be ambitious and do what u want to do,''Priyanka said in an interview to a TV channel, her first interview after he marriage to the US singer.

On her Indian wedding to Nick Jonas, Priyanka chopra said the Jonas family was better prepared ''The groom side were more in number than we were . We were intimidated by the jonas' . We were not all that prepared but they were well prepared,''she said.

Priyanka said that for her the most special moment was when the curtains opened and she saw him (Nick) at the altar. ''Life was okay in that moment," she said .

Talking about her wedding dresses, Priyanka said they were her personal choice.

''It wasn't about fashion. I wanted something unique. Both the dresses- red and white- were personalized for me. I  wanted the longest veil in the world and I gor that . The outfits were personal choices,''she said in an interview to NDTV.

Asked for her advice on love, the actress said,''don't focus your energy so much on what people think of you, or what society says. Focus more on what your loved ones think of you. If we lived more  in reality, life is really fairly simple."

Priyanka tied the knot with Nick at a lavish ceremony at Umed palace in Rajasthan two days ago.On Tuesday, the couple hosted a reception in Delhi for close family members and friends.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the special guests who graced the reception.(UNI)
