‘Pad Man’ becomes one of the most successful films in Japan, Check collections

New Delhi: Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Pad Man’ has joined the list of successful Indian films running in Japan, with a total business of Rs 4.49 crore till date, trade sources said on Monday.
“The movie which was released on December 7 in Japan, is currently running in week six, and 18 locations, ‘Pad Man’ has earned Rs 4.49 crore till Sunday,” the sources said.
‘Pad Man’ is directed and written by R Balki, featuring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles.
The movie is inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
It is based on the short story “The Sanitary Man of Sacred Land” in Twinkle Khanna’s book ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, which is inspired by the life of Muruganantham, who introduced low-cost sanitary pads.
