Honolulu: Lifeguard and surfing instructor, Tamayo Perry, who played the part of a pirate in "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" besides appearing in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Blue Crush", has died in a shark attack in Hawaii, media reports said. Perry was 49.
On Sunday afternoon while surfing off Oahu, Perry, was attacked near Goat Island, Sky News quoted Honolulu's emergency services as saying.
The incident was reported by a caller who saw a man with injury marks like those by shark bites. Emergency services arrived at the scene on Malaekahana Beach just before 1pm local time.
Rescuers brought Perry -- an Ocean Safety lifeguard and surfing instructor -- by jet ski to the shore, where paramedics pronounced him dead, Shayne Enright, of the Honolulu Emergency Services Department, was quoted as saying.
He appeared as a pirate in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Honolulu's Star Advertiser reported in 2011.
