Salman Khan condoles death of ‘Sanam Bewafa’ director Saawan Kumar Tak

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Thursday condoled the demise of veteran filmmaker Saawan Kumar Tak.

Tak passed away due to prolonged illness, at the age of 86. He breathed his last following a heart attack at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, after battling lung and chest related diseases.

He is survived by his wife and music director Usha Khanna.

Salman took to the social media and shared a heartfelt note for the filmmaker. He said, “May u rest in peace my dear Sawaan ji. Have always loved n respected u.”

He directed films like ‘Saajan Bina Suhagan’, ‘Souten’, ‘Souten Ki Beti’, ‘Sanam Bewafa’, and ‘Bewaffa Se Waffa’.

He is credited with giving break to actors such as Sanjeev Kumar and Mehmood Junior. His most famous directorial venture was Rajesh Khanna starrer Souten, which was the first Indian film to be shot in Mauritius and was a platinum jubilee hit. (UNI)
