Stardom on the brink if multiplexes remain closed for a year

Mumbai:The nearly three-month lockdown in India due to this epidemic has significantly affected people's functioning due to COVID-19 Pandemic. This resulted in thousands of pink slips handed over to employees. The film industry has not been untouched by it, in fact, tinsel town is one of the most affected buisness after tourism.
All single-screen theaters and multiplexes have been closed for the past several months. Due to which many films were not released on the big screen. Although some films are being released online. Meanwhile, a tweet by filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has raised the tension of the directors.
 
Shekhar Kapur tweeted, Theatres are not going to open for at least a year. So all hype around first week business of 100+ crores is dead. So the theatrical Star System is dead. Stars will have to go to the existing OTT platforms or stream films themselves through their own apps. Technology is quite simple
 
It is to be noted that due to lockdown film-makers have started giving the rights to enable an OTT release of their film. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer film 'Gulabo-Sitabo' was released on Amazon Prime Video.  Few much-awaited movies are Akshay Kumar's Lakshmi Bomb, Vidya Balan's Shakuntala Devi, Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride of Nation, Sushant Singh Rajput's last film 'Dil Bechara' will soon be released on OTT platform.
