VIDEO: After Oscar slapgate, Twitter digs up 90s clip of Will Smith joking about bald man

Oscar ceremony turned ugly when actor Will Smith stormed onstage to smack Chris Rock after the actor-comedian made a joke about Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith getting ready to shoot a G.I. Jane sequel — a reference to Demi Moore's film where she had cropped her hair as well as a reference to Jada's shaved head (the actress has been open about her hair loss due to alopecia) — and slapped Rock in the face.

Now, netizens have dug out an old video of the ‘King Richard’ actor wherein he is making fun of a bald person. The viral video is said to be of 90s talk show ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’.

"The bass player? He got a rule. He got to wax his head every morning. That's a rule! He follows the rules, man. He follows the rules," Will Smith can be seen saying in the clip – the camera cuts to the bassist, John B Williams, who smiles in response. As the camera cuts back to Will, someone – either Arsenio or the audience – calls him "rude"; "These are jokes, come one," Will responds.

“He gotta wax his head every morning.” Now this is a video of Will Smith saying a joke about someone with Alopecia.

Netizens called out the ‘Men in Black’ actor for his 'hypocrisy'.

Check out some of the reactions:

He was fine joking about someone else.. but could not handle it when the joke came about his family.... That too the joke was not bad.....

This is actually worse than the G.I Jane joke imo

Meanwhile, Will Smith formally apologized to Chris Rock for his behaviour at the Oscars via his Instagram. He said, “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness. I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world.”
