The untimely death of actress Shefali Jariwala has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Her last rites were performed in Mumbai on Saturday evening, attended by close friends and family.

Following her death suspected due to cardiac arrest, the city police have initiated a formal investigation into the matter. So far in the police investigation, it has come to light that anti-aging drugs could be a major reason for cardiac arrest.

According to sources, Shefali was consuming anti-ageing medicines for the last seven-eight years under expert’s guidance. There was a puja at home on June 27, due to which Shefali was fasting. Despite this, she took an injection of anti-ageing medicine in the afternoon. Her blood pressure reportedly dropped drastically at night and she began shivering, prompting her husband Parag Tyagi to rush her to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

Police are investigating all possible angles. So far, eight individuals—including family members, house staff, and medical professionals—have been questioned. Forensic teams seized anti-ageing vials, vitamin supplements, and gastric medication from her Mumbai residence.

As per officials, no evidence of any foul play has been found. The final cause of death will be determined after a detailed postmortem and chemical analysis of the substances found.

Video footage from outside the hospital showed Parag Tyagi visibly distraught and in tears as he arrived with Shefali. The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, had previously participated together in the dance reality show Nach Baliye. Born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on December 15, 1982, Jariwala rose to fame with the iconic song, 'Kaanta Laga'. Her career spanned music videos, films and television, including participation in 'Nach Baliye' with husband Parag Tyagi, and 'Bigg Boss 13'. She was previously married to musician Harmeet Singh from 2004 to 2009.
