COVID-19: India active case load crosses 1 lakh mark

New Delhi: India recorded 17,070 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of active caseload past the one lakh mark, as per the Health Ministry data on Friday.
The active cases stood at 1,07,189 which comprises 0.25 per cent of the total infections, whereas the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.55 percent.
Meanwhile the total cases since the pandemic started in the country stood at 4,33,19,396.
As many as 23 fresh fatalities were also recorded, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 5,25,139.
Meanwhile, 14,413 recoveries were reported, increasing the total recoveries to 4,28,36,906.
According to the ministry's bulletin issued by the on Friday, 86.28 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
“India has administered 197.74 Cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said. (UNI)
