COVID-19: India logs 2,539 cases, 61 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 2,539 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,01,477 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Thursday.
As many as 61 fresh fatalities were also recorded, taking the total Covid death count in the country to 5,16132.
The active cases in the country currently stand at 30,799 which now comprise 0.07 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.73 per cent.
Meanwhile, 4,491 recoveries were reported during the same period, increasing the total recoveries in the country to 4,24,54,546.
Regarding vaccination, the government has been continuously speeding up the drive across the country and on Thursday, 78.12 crore tests for Covid-19 had been done so far.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 7,17,330 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 180.80 doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” the data said. (UNI)
