COVID-19: India logs 2,927 new cases, 32 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 2,927 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,65,496 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Wednesday.
As many as 32 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 5,23654.
The active cases stand at 16,279 which now comprises 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.75 per cent.
Meanwhile, 2252 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries of 4,25,25,563.
Meanwhile, Delhi Tuesday reported 1,204 fresh Covid-19 cases and one related fatality, while the positivity rate stood at 4.64 per cent, according to data shared by the health department.
The cumulative number of infections in the city now stands at 18,77,091 and the death toll at 26,169, the bulletin stated.
On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Wednesday 83.59 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 5,05.065 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 188.19 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
More than 192.88 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far. Over 19.70 Crore balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
