COVID-19: India reports 2,483 new cases, Assam logs 1,347 backlog deaths

New Delhi: India has registered 2,483 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,60,086 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Tuesday.
As Assam added a backlog of 1,347 deaths, taking the country's overall Covid death tally to 5,23,622.
The active cases stand at 15,636 which now comprises 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.75 per cent.
Meanwhile, 1970 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries of 4,25,23,311.
On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Tuesday 83.54Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,49,197 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 187.95 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
More than 192.85 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.
Over 19.90 Crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (Inputs from UNI)
