COVID-19: India logs 7,554 cases, 223 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India recorded 7,554 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
As per the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,29,38,599 while the death toll rose to 5,14,246 as 223 succumbed to the disease.
On a positive note, 14,123 more people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 4,23,38,673.
The recovery rate stands at 98.60 per cent. The active caseload stands at 85,680, the figures showed.
According to the bulletin, 76.91 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
India has administered 177.79 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
