COVID-19: India records 14,148 new cases, 302 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 14,148 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while the daily positivity rate stood at 1.22 per cent, as per the Union Health Ministry data released on Thursday.
As many as 302 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the past 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country to 512924.
The active cases stand at 1,48,359 which now comprise 0.38 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.46 per cent.
Meanwhile, 30,009 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 4,22,19,896.
On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Thursday, 76.35 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 11,55,147 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 176.52 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” according to the data.
More than 173 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.
Over 10.79 crores balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs, the ministry said. (UNI)
