COVID-19: India records 2067 cases, 40 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 2067 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,47,594 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Wednesday.
As many as 40 fresh Covid fatalities were also recorded, taking the total death count in the country, to 5,22,006.
The active cases stand at 12,340 which now comprises 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.76 per cent.
Meanwhile, 1,547 recoveries were reported, taking the total recoveries to 4,25,13,248.
The Ministry said that as of Wednesday 83.29 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far and in the last 24 hours, a total of 4,21,183 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 186.90cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
More than 192.27 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far. (UNI)
