COVID-19: India reports 1,581 cases, 33 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 1,581 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally to 4,30,10,922 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Tuesday.
As many as 33 fresh Covid fatalities were also recorded, taking the total death count in the country, to 5,16,543.
The number of active cases stand at 23,931 which now comprise 0.06 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.74 per cent.
Meanwhile, 2,741 recoveries were also reported, increasing the total count to 4,24,70,515.
On the vaccination front, 78.36 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 5,68,471 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 181. 56 r doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said. (UNI)
