COVID-19: India reports 30,570 new cases, 431 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India logged 30,570 new cases and 431 deaths due to the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the union health ministry said on Thursday.
The latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,33,47,325 whereas the death toll has climbed to 4,43,928 according to the data.
The daily positivity rate of the infection was recorded at 1.94 per cent in the country while the active cases have remained under 3.5 lakh after declining by 8,164 cases, as per the health ministry's bulletin.
The cumulative active caseload now stands at 3,42,923. The share of active cases now stands at 1.03 per cent of the total Covid-19 cases, the figures showed.
Meanwhile, 38,303 more people recovered from the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours making the recovery registry climb to 3,25,60,474. As per the data, the recovery rate stands at 97.64 per cent
The union ministry stated that the weekly positivity rate (1.93 per cent) has been under 3 per cent for 83 days now.
A total of 54,77,01,729 samples were tested up to September 15, 2021, for Covid-19. Of these, 15,79,761 samples were tested on Wednesday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Meanwhile, the Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 76 crore.
"More than 64 lakh (64,51,423) vaccine doses have been administered on Wednesday making the country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage reach a cumulative figure of 76.57 crore (76,57,17,137) as per provisional reports," the ministry said. (UNI)
