COVID-19: India reports 32,937 new cases, 417 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: As many as 32,937 people tested positive for the novel Coronavirus in the country during the past 24 hours, while 417 succumbed in the same period, data from the Union Health Ministry showed on Monday.
With this, the death toll has mounted to 4,31,642.
According to the Ministry, the active cases declined by 3,389, to stand at 3,81,947. It is now 1.19 per cent of the total caseload.
On the recovery front, 35,909 patients were cured and discharged in the past one day, taking the total recovery count to 3,14,11,924, which is 97.48 per cent of the case tally. The fatality rate remained steady at 1.34 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 49,48,05,652 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Of this, 11,81,212 were tested on Sunday.
Till now, 54,58,57,108 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccines, with 17,43,114 being inoculated against the virus in the past 24 hours. (UNI)
