COVID-19: India sees 18 % dip in daily cases, logs 6,594 new cases in 24 hours

New Delhi: India has recorded 6,594 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the active case load in the country to 50,548 as per the Health Ministry data on Tuesday.
As many as 6 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 52,4777.
The active cases stand at 50,548 which now comprise 0.11 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.67 percent.
Meanwhile, 4,035 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 4,2657,335.
On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Tuesday 85.54 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,21,873 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 195.35 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
More than 193.53 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.
Over 13.56 crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
