COVID-19: India's active cases declines to 1,34,096, lowest in 523 days

New Delhi: India's Covid-19 active cases have declined to 1,34,096 (0.39 per cent); lowest in 523 days (17 months), lowest since March 2020, according to the Union Health Ministry's data on Monday.
Meanwhile in the last 24 hours, the country reported 10,229 Covid-19 cases, whereas 125 fatalities were recorded during the same period, taking the total tally to 46,3655, said the Ministry.
The recovery rate touched 98.26 per cent as 11,926 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,38,49,785.
"The daily positivity rate is 1.12 per cent, which has remained less than two per cent for the last 42 days, whereas the weekly positivity rate is 0.99 per cent, which has also remained less than two per cent for the last 52 days now," the Ministry reported.
The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. India has so far conducted over 62.46 crore tests across the country.
With the administration of 30,20,119 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India's Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 112.34 crore, the Ministry said.
"More than 124 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through direct state procurement category," it added. (UNI)
