COVID-19: India’s active cases declines to 1,30,793 lowest in 525 days

New Delhi: India’s Covid-19 active cases have declined to 1,30,793; lowest in 525 days (17 months), which presently constituted at 0.38 percent lowest since March 2020, according to the Union Health Ministry’s data on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours the country has reported 8,865 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours in the country, whereas 197 fatalities were recorded during the same period, taking the total tally to 46,3852 said the Ministry.

The recovery rate touched 98. 27 per cent as 11,971 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,38,61,756.

“The daily positivity rate is 0.80 per cent, which is less than 2 per cent for the last 43 days, whereas the weekly positivity rate is 0.97 per cent which also remains less than 2 per cent for the last 53 days now,” the Ministry reported.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. India has so far conducted over 62.57 Crore tests across the country.

With the administration of 59,75,469 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 112.97 Crore, the Ministry said.

“More than 125 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through direct state procurement category,” it said. (UNI)
