Sharp decline in COVID cases, India logs 27,409 new cases in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India recorded 27,409 new Covid cases and 347 related deaths, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
With this the total caseload rose to 4,26,92,943, while the death toll rose to 5,09,358.
Meanwhile, 82,817 more people recovered from the disease, taking the total tally to 4,17,60,458. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.82 per cent.
The active caseload stands at 4,23,127, the figures showed.
So far India has carried out 75.30 crore tests for Covid-19.
India has administered 173.42 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
