The dip in daily spike of nCOV cases & death due to COVID continues

New Delhi:India recorded 42,640 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country's caseload to 2,99,77,861 while the death toll soared to 3,89,302 with 1,167 more fatalities, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
The active cases declined by 40,366 to stand at 6,62,521. It is now 2.21 per cent of the total caseload.
 
The past 24 hours saw 81,839 people recovering from the deadly virus, taking the total recovery count to 2,89,26,038, which is 96.49 per cent of the case tally. The fatality rate stood at 1.30 per cent.
 
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 39,40,72,142 lakh samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Of this, 16,64,360 were tested on Monday.
 
India has administered 28,87,66,201 vaccine doses in the past day, highest ever single day vaccination achieved in the world so far, raising the total vaccination count to 28,87,66,201.
 
Till now, 28,00,36,898 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccines, with 30,39,996 being inoculated against the virus in the past 24 hours.

Odisha daily covid load dips further to below 3000 marks, 2957 new cases, 38 deaths reported in past 24 hrs
 
The daily covid load in Odisha today declined to less than 3000 marks as 2957 new cases were reported in the state in the past 24 hours.
 
Health and Family Welfare department sources said during the past 24 hours,1968 new infection cases were reported from the quarantine centres and 1259 as local contact cases from all the 30 districts.
 
Khordha district reported the highest number of 408 cases followed by Cuttack (272) Jajpur ( 260), Balasore (247) and Puri (219).
 
With the fresh 2957 cases, the total covid tally in the state surged to 8,83,490.
 
During the period 38 covid patients succumbed to the virus pushing the total fatalities in the state to 3671 while with the recovery of 4587 people on Monday the total recoveries in the state rose to 8,44,801.
 
Sources said Khordha district registered the highest number of six deaths in the past 24 hours followed by five each in Bargarh and Cuttack and four each in Puri and Sambalpur.
 
Three people died in Sambalpur district, two each succumbed to the virus in Jharuguda and jagatsingh our district and one each in seven districts.
 
Sources said only four districts- Khordha, Cuttack, Kendrapar and Balasore have active cases more than 2501 with Khordha registering the highest number of 5529 followed by Cuttack (3401), Kendrapara ( 3398) and Balasore ( 3052).
 
As far as the Test Positivity Rate(TPR) is concerned about 18 of the total 30 districts in the state have less than 5 per cent while three districts such as Khordha, Puri and Jajpur districts have TPR over 10 per cent.
 
Official sources said in past 24 hours 61,608 tests were conducted in the state and 2957(about 4.7 per cent) of them found infected with coronavirus.
 
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said Odisha has achieved a significant milestone by administering over one crore vaccine doses including vaccination of the frontline warriors.
 
Mr Patnaik commended the commitment of the healthcare workers in ensuring a swift inoculation process to save lives.
 
The state government has planned to inoculate at least three lakh doses everyday. On June 21, the state achieved the highest single day vaccination of 3.32 lakh doses and crossed the milestone of one crore inoculation in the state.

6,270 fresh cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra
 
The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 348 new cases of COVID-19 and 22 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Tuesday.
 
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed topped the list recording 124 new cases and 5 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 54 cases and 4 deaths, Latur had 17 cases and 4 deaths, Jalna had 24 cases and 3 deaths, Parbhani had 21 new cases and 3 deaths, Osmanabad had 76 cases and 2 deaths, Hingol recorded single case and single death and Nanded had 31 cases and no death.
 
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours,6,270 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded from across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative total of infections in the state to 59,79,051.
 
The state also registered 94 fresh COVID deaths, taking Maharashtra's death toll to 1,18,313.
 
Meanwhile, 13,758 patients recovered in the state during the same time, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 57,33,215.
 
The state's recovery rate now stands at 95.89 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.98 per cent.
 
At present, there are 1,24,398 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
