COVID-19: India logs 2,51,209 new cases, 627 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has recorded 2,51,209 new Covid cases, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,06,22,709, while the death toll rose to 4,92,327 after 627 more patients succumbed to the virus.

On the other hand, 3,47,443 more people have recovered from the disease, taking the total tally of recoveries to 3,80,24,771. The recovery rate stands at 93.60 per cent.

The active caseload now stands at 21,05,611, the figures showed. As per the bulletin, 72.37 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 164.44 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
