In Northern India, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated in the month of Chaitra. However, in Telugu states it falls in the month of Jyeshtha, and in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka this festival is celebrated in Margashirsha. In the year 2024, the Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated on December 13 in Karnataka and on December 30 in Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka, Hanuman Jayant is celebrated on Shukla Paksha Trayodashi during Margashirsha month. The day is also known as Hanuman Vratam.

Pooja Rituals
- Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath and wear clean clothes.
- Place the idol or picture of Hanumanji on a wooden plank covered with a red or yellow cloth. Sit on a Kusha Asana.
- Give a bath to the idol and if there is a picture, clean it properly.
- Start the pooja by lighting incense and a diya with desi ghee.
- Apply tilak to Hanumanji with the ring finger, offer vermilion, chandan (sandalwood) etc. and then offer him garlands and flowers.
- If you want to perform abhishek of the idol, then pour Panchamrit, and then worship.
- After Panchopchar Puja, offer Naivedya to them. Salt, chilli and oil are not used in Naivedya.
- Do offer gud-chana (jaggery-gram) prasad. Apart from this, offer Kesariya Bundi Laddu, Besan Laddu, Churma, Malpua or Malai Mishri.
- Offer them a betel leaf and make your wish.
- In the end, perform the Aarti of Hanumanji.
- Now, offer Naivedya to him again and finally distribute it to everyone as Prasad.
