IS says it carried out attacks on Indonesian churches

Jakarta:The Islamic State on Sunday said it was responsible for carrying out the suicide bomb attacks on three churches in the Indonesian city of Surabaya that have killed 11 people.
The Islamic State's Amaq news agency has made this claim without elaborating anything.
"Three martyrdom attacks inflicts at least 11 deaths and 41 injuries of the churches' guards and Christians in the city of Surabaya in East Java province in Indonesia," the agency said in Cairo.
The bombings took place around 07:30 local time (00:30 GMT).
Several people have also been injured in the attacks, which occurred within minutes of each other. TV pictures showed debris scattered around the entrance of one church.Indonesia, the most populous Muslim-majority country, has seen a resurgence of Islamist militancy in recent months.
 
Earlier, the country's intelligence agency said it was most likely to have been carried out by an Islamic State-inspired group, Jemaah Ansharut Daulah, the BBC News report said.Days earlier, five members of the Indonesian security forces were killed during a standoff with militant Islamist prisoners at a high-security prison on the outskirts of the capital Jakarta.
