Indian women are paving paths of success for themselves and are becoming independent more than ever. Gone are the days when the female gender was expected to stay within the four walls and take care of the kids.
India is a land of traditions and cultures that are woven so tightly that earlier it was hard for a woman to get out of it and dream something for herself. A lot of Indian women have gone to achieve great heights and haven’t left any stone unturned in order to prove their capabilities to the world.

This article specifically talks about the women who went on to break the stereotypes and serve the nation. Although it also involves how the positions and the powers are being mishandled.

Mohita Sharma, the 2017 batch IPS officer, posted in Bari Brahma, Jammu and Kashmir is married to an IFS officer who dreamt of being a contestant in the show Kaun Banega Crorepati. She is making the headlines because she has won the title of Crorepati in the 12 th season of the show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.

Mohita is an IPS officer by profession and she admits it helped her in preparing for the contest. People who study for such an exam that requires your heart, mind and soul in a combination, work really hard to stay focused and that shows in their personality.

Becoming an IAS/IPS isn’t a piece of cake. To get to that position, one needs to sacrifice their sleep, social life, personal life and entertainment to an extent that it doesn’t affect their concentration.

The IAS officer came on the show to fulfill her husband’s will and was focused more on the experience she was gaining rather than money. She was wary of the image of her uniform and wanted to perform well so that people respect officers more. Officers who work hard and deserve the position they have.

This was an example of how an IPS officer showcased her intelligence in the most elegant manner. She respected her job, her uniform and her duty. Now we’ll talk about another such IPS officer who failed in handling the situation well and as a result was mocked at on twitter for indulging in a heated argument with another account.

Karanataka Senior IPS Officer D. Roopa Moudgil involved in a spat with a Twitter user around Diwali and the netizens started criticizing her soon after. This all started after D. Roopa shared a Facebook post on her Twitter account on 14 th of November about what she’d written in support of the cracker ban rule in some parts of India.

Soon after which a discussion started between the officer and a Twitter account True Indology. The discussion turned into a heated argument and in no time the latter’s account was taken down by the social media platform. The twitteratis lost their minds and started shaming D. Roopa of her misuse of power. She was believed to not have talked to the twitter user in a sophisticated manner.

Soon after, #ShameOnIPSRoopa and #BringBackTrueIndology started trending on Twitter. “She said my time was up, and I was suspended” said the owner of True Indology on Facebook later that day.

Such acts of the people in power who take wrong advantages of their position make us question our place in the country. The people who are meant to take care of us and who are trained to do so are becoming the reasons of our problems.

The IPS officer was busy arguing with another person over social media when she should have been spending those minutes in doing something better for the society. She could have made a good use of her time instead she chose to shame a person over a clash of opinions.

Another inhuman act was carried out by an IPS officer in Munger, Bihar. Lipi Singh, the daughter of former IAS officer and JD leader Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Ramchandra Prasad Singh. She is known for being a topper at the civil services examination. She’s a 2016 batch IPS officer.

Her style of work was quite appreciated by the people in her region of control and hence she was referred to as Lady Singham but in no time she was being compared to General Dyer after she ordered to open fire at devotees in Munger leading to death of one, identified as Anurag Poddar.

Twitteratis as fast as they spread the news, started condemning her act and #LipiSinghDyer was on the trends again. She was being compared to the General Reginald Dyer who was responsible for the horrifying deaths of thousands of people for opening out a fire at Jalianwala Bagh in 1919.

However on Tuesday she was released of her duties from the position of the superintendent of police (SP) by the Election Commission and was shifted to the state headquarters.Infact, her claim that the devotee died of firing within the crowd is being
questioned.

If such horrendous acts are being carried out that in no way help the citizens of the nation, what could be said in appreciation of these ladies who worked so hard to get to a position that only everyone can dream of.

There’s two ways to anything you do, it’s upon you to choose which is yours. You can either respect your profession and value what you’ve got and use it to help other or you can only choose to misuse it to defend yourself and forget what your real agenda was.
