2 LeT militants gunned down, CRPF jawan martyred in Srinagar encounter

Srinagar:  Two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, who were holed up in a building near battalion headquarters of CRPF in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar, were killed on Tuesday in more than 27 hour-long encounter with security forces.

Official sources said that an alert sentry noticed a group of militants approaching towards the camp at Karan Nagar in the city this morning. However, the sentry opened fire, they said, adding that the militants fled away.Later, security forces cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation, they said, adding that further details are awaited.(UNI)
